MVP Feeding the Community during the Pandemic

We are living in hard economic times.
The hit of the pandemic has brought to light the harsh reality that a large number of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. This has led to another crisis to rise in America, a hunger crisis. According to a report by the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC), as of July, the number of people saying they often did not have enough to eat jumped to 29 million. The numbers are even worse for people of color with 20% of Black and Latinx Families reporting they did not have enough to eat. The number is twice the rate of white families. The situation is so bad that families that normally have had stable steady incomes now have to seek food assistance and visit food banks.
It is because of this that we at MVP have sponsored a community cookout and food giveaway event to assist all the families that are having a hard time during these uncertain times. At MVP our only mission is to enhance the quality of life in our community. We intended to get our community members out of their houses for a worthy cause. For them to come and assist in bettering your community. We collaborated with local Buffalo public schools and were giving away food boxes to all those families who needed it, along with providing hot food straight from the grill. We wanted to offer a safe place for our community to come and help each other while keeping safe.
We also passed out free facemasks to all present at the cookout. We wanted to ensure the health and safety of all our community members by providing some of the basic PPEs needed for the Covid-19 pandemic.
We are determined to fight for change in our community.
